Bio.
Mark Cocksedge, a photographer born and based in London, specialises in portraiture, interiors, and advertising, with a keen focus on collaborating with the design industry. Renowned for his honest and approachable style of photography, his interest in establishing a genuine connection between the subject and the lens is extremely important to him.
He completed his education in Graphic Arts & Design at Leeds Met University, gaining a strong foundation in traditional photographic methods—shooting, processing, and image development.
Having spent the past 15 years developing his style, Cocksedge has based himself out of East London to set up his studio and focus on his work with the design industry – including collaborating with his brother, designer Paul Cocksedge, whose work he's been documenting for the past two decades.
Known for his crisp imagery and honest approach to portraiture, he has shot a host of up-and-coming designers, as well as some of the most prominent figures in the industry, including Ron Arad, Morag Myerscough, Yinka Illori, Marc Newson, Faye Toogood, John Pawson, Toisin Oshinowo, Thomas Heatherwick, and the late Christo.
Cocksedge has also photographed Sir David Attenborough for Norway's Aftenposten, documented design festivals around the world, and been commissioned by clients including Swarovski, COS, London Design Festival, Sainsbury Centre, LEGO, New Designers, Sense, Hermes, TFL London, Carpenters Workshop Gallery and Friedman Benda Gallery.
To date, Mark Cocksedge set up and co-founded his magazine during the pandemic in response to showcase people and their stories. He photographs all the content and Mr Gresty handles the design. Ryezine, a quarterly journal, celebrates the present-day through the people, places and pastimes in the southeast region of the UK.
